Clamber your way through the gorge of Gaia

The gorge of Gaia also known as the scorpio's path located on the island of Scorpio doesn't get its name by coincidence. In Greek mythology Gaia was the one who sent a scorpion into battle to hunt and kill the god Orion. On its path it destroyed everything it encountered and the remnants are said to be found in this very gorge. Many travellers visit this place to wade the same path as the scorpio once did

The Gorge of Gaia is one of Scorpio's most popular attractions. Yearly no less than 5000 people dare to travel the gorge and they do not regret it. The scorpio's path offers a bewildering beauty of nature and an amazing ride down rock formations that were created 6000 years ago by a river that used to flow in its place.

Along Gaia's Gorge you may come across an opening where the water still flows and nature has been ruling since centuries. It offers the perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of our unique inhabited species such as the longtailbaboon that receives its name from his long tail or the kiti-kiti, which is a bird that owes its name to the special sound it makes.
